Kenneth Weinberg, M.D., Director Emeritus

Kenneth Weinberg, M.D. earned his BA in TV and Film Production from the University of Wisconsin. After four years working in the field in New York, he changed career paths and went to medical school. Dr. Weinberg has been an emergency room physician for 20 years and for most of that time has been writing stories related to his experiences. He has also been politically active, starting as an antiwar 60's hippie and now focusing on pursuing universal healthcare in the United States. In that light he has been active on the board of Physicians for a National Health Program and provided medical support to protesters during the 2004 Republican National Convention. Dr. Weinberg is an instructor in writing at the Program in Narrative Medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University.
