Server Move Hiccups
If you, like me, are one of those unfortunate people who rarely goes 15 minutes without a visit to Fractured Atlas website, then you may have noticed that we’ve had a little downtime over the past few days. The most serious outage lasted from about 6:00 last night until 5:30 this morning.
These problems undoubtedly stem from the fact that we moved to a new web server (actually a “high availability cluster” if you’re a fan of irony) last Thursday. We’re not yet completely sure what’s causing the problems, but we’re working on it. My apologies for any inconvenience as we get this all sorted out, and I thank you for your patience.
UPDATE: It’s now 2:30pm and it appears (knock wood) that the problem is fixed. For the truly geeky among you, we encountered an obscure incompatibility with specific versions of Apache2 and OpenSSL. Updating OpenSSL seems to have done the trick.
