Tell the Obama team to adopt a cultural policy platform
Not long ago, I mentioned the large number of ad hoc groups that have emerged to promote various arts and culture policy ideas to the Obama team.
Well, one of those groups is called ArtsPolicyNow, and it involves some of the smartest folks in the industry on this issue. Although I can’t claim to be a core member, I’ve shared some of my ideas with them, a few of which actually made it into the final platform that the group produced (it’s a quick read - check it out).
In any event, ArtsPolicyNow is calling on President Obama to establish a National Cultural Policy. They’ve posted a summary of their platform and proposal on Obama’s Citizen’s Briefing Book website. If you agree with the ideas expressed, please take a second to VOTE THE IDEA UP; the ideas that get the most votes will be brought to President Obama for consideration.
