More Travel, Less Money
Want to travel, but hotel prices got you down? Sick of staying in generic hotel rooms where you wind up forgetting what city you’re even in? (Oh, trust me, it’s happened to me, too!) Well, we’re pleased to announce a new partnership with Academic Ambassadors, an organization that provides significant discounts to boutique, independent, and other artsy hotels across the country (and in Canada!).
Created by a fellow traveler seven years ago, Academic Ambassadors carefully chooses the “right” hotels in the “right” locations to put you in the heart of a city’s arts and entertainment districts. Though intimate in scale and feel, all have sophisticated decor and the kind of personalized service associated with independent hotels (the large chains are not represented). Notably, some are art destinations in themselves. For example, The Chambers in Minneapolis and Hotel 21c in Louisville showcase important and provocative collections of contemporary art.
Academic Ambassadors is the official hotel discounter of one of our Open Arts Network partners, OperaAmerica, as well as many collegiate institutions, including Harvard, MIT, and Duke, among others. It also serves unaffiliated individuals, including artists, who work and create in the non-profit sector. (That means you, Fractured Atlas members!)
For more information and to access these discounts, check out the Academic Ambassors listing in the Special Offers section of our site. And, to get to those hotels, don’t forget to check out the blog on rental car discounts I posted a while back. Happy trails!
