New Online Course: Social Media Marketing for Arts Professionals

Fractured Atlas is proud to announce the launch of its latest Fractured U. online course: Social Media Marketing for Arts Professionals.

Social media has revolutionized arts marketing in the 21st Century. The whole infrastructure of the art and entertainment industries has been flipped, dissected, inverted, twisted, exploded and imploded due to technology; the Internet; the seemingly unlimited virtual and mixed reality platforms; and the incredible amount of access we have to EACH OTHER!

With the options to eBlast, tweet, status update, tag, link, like, embed, upload, download, share, sync, poke, blog, comment, digg, ning, ping, post, IM, Skype, rss subscribe, request, text, invite, eVite, flickr, friend, google, and message your audience/patrons…marketing has become much more complex.

Social media has both changed and blurred the boundaries between artist and audience. Psychological distance is compressed as our geographical reach expands. Artists are both performing for and collaborating with their audience as never before.

How many of you feel overwhelmed and under-informed about how to effectively use social media to market your art? Our research suggests the answer is almost all of you. And why shouldn’t you feel this way? The social media world is so dynamic, so fast, and so vast that just trying to navigate it can be a huge challenge.

Enter Diana Chang

She is the social media marketing professional who developed this very engaging self-paced course to introduce social media marketing to arts professionals who are relatively unfamiliar with the subject. It’s friendly to those who are new to social media, marketing, or both. Social Media Marketing for Arts Professionals introduces you to the characteristics, requirements, tools, and practices of social media marketing with a focus on arts industries.

For less than the cost of a new head shot or a portfolio book, Diana will:

  • expose popular social media platforms from a marketing perspective;
  • share social media marketing practices;
  • explore the role that marketing plays in social media;
  • introduce strategies for approaching potential consumers via social media;
  • and outline methods for engaging fans and promoting art via social media.

Register today for the Social Media Marketing for Arts Professionals course at Fractured U, where arts professionals learn to navigate the business of art.
