…. at midnight in your pajamas.
If you haven’t heard already, we’ve begun launching new courses in our online course series, Fractured U. Many of you have already enrolled in the free fundraising, marketing, and professional identity courses — and we hoped you’ve liked them! But our new courses are even better, as they’ve been developed by top professionals in the field.
The first course we blogged about a few weeks ago, Social Media Marketing for Arts Professionals by arts consultant Diana Chang, is a ton of fun while being extremely informative. Even though I’ve sat through multiple live workshops on social media marketing at many different conferences this year, I found Diana’s course to be incredibly useful. And, for only $65, it’s well worth the price.
But, what we neglected to tell everyone is that these are asynchronous courses. What does that mean? These aren’t webinars — they aren’t live. So, you don’t need to rearrange your schedule to fit in a two-hour workshop in the middle of your Friday, when you have work, rehearsal and studio time, etc. We know that your time as artists is valuable and that it’s best to allow you to take these courses as you see fit…. maybe even at midnight in your pajamas. Sure, the content will take you multiple hours to go through, but you get to do it on your own time. Want to do it 20 minutes at a time? Two hours at a time? All at once? It’s completely up to you.
And this ain’t college, folks! Certainly, we’ve added assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, etc. to these courses, but you’re not required to do anything you’d rather not do — or don’t have the time to do. Sure, you’ll probably learn more if you do everything the courses suggest, but we want the educational experience to work with your lifestyle — not the other way around.
So, take a few minutes, an hour, a day… whether it be at 6AM over coffee, 12PM during lunch, 6PM before rehearsal, or 2AM when you can’t sleep… and get started learnin’ stuff! And be sure to keep an eye out for announcements of two more courses launching in the next two weeks.
