10 Ways to Enjoy Your Vacation
What to do with your lovely holiday vacation? If you aren’t sure, here are my suggestions:

10: Don’t Go to the Gym
Seriously, all those people with their New Year’s resolutions are nuts. All of your faves classes will have twice as many people in them. Do a yoga DVD at home orwalk around the block. Go back to the gym in February.
9: Le Library
There are free books there! I love to browse the new acquisitions section and find random good things. I never would have read Pam Grier’s autobiography otherwise.
8: Bethlehem Road Trip
Admittedly this is a big ticket item, but it is the quintessential xmas. The Church of the Nativity is rather stunning, and they have some fab hand-embroidered icons of Mary & Jesus. And then you can go to dinner at Abu Shanab.
7: Give Something
Money if you can, stuff if you can’t. Clean out your old clothes and give them to a charity. I know you have more stuff than you need, it’s the American way.
6: Make an Emergency Plan
My colleague Emily has more to say about this. But isn’t it a great way to start the New Year?
5: Netflix Streaming
Whatever, you’re watching Dexter in another window right now. You are totes ahead of me on this one.
4: Dance!
Empirically speaking, it’s never a bad time to dance.
3: Tea Party
No, not that kind. A real tea party, or super-long lunch. My strategy is to go around 2 pm so you catch the end of the lunch service and have the place until dinner gets hopping. It’s such a luxury to waste time with some of your best friends.
2: Walk the Block
If you work in a different neighborhood than you live in, it’s easy to miss out on things. I like to walk around and see what new businesses are open, what houses are for sale, etc. Be neighborly!
1: Nothing!
Sweet sweet doing nothing. You are always underrated.
