Help Us Help You: Fundraisers, Benefits, and Galas

Ah, January. The month for new beginnings, putting things in order, getting in shape, and geeking-out about fundraisers. Wait…what?

But really, what are your business resolutions for 2012? Keep better track of your ticket buyers? Sell some tickets with a papering service? Remind your patrons about your work more often so they don’t ignore your year-end appeal again? (Grrrr…)

Like The Container Store gives you tools to tame your sock drawer and the gym gives you tools to optimize your butt, we want to give you tools to help you take care of your business and get on with your art. That’s why we’re building, a new online software for selling tickets, accepting donations, and managing contacts. From the start, is different from other ticketing and CRM tools because we designed it from scratch based on what independent artists and small arts organizations like you said you wanted. A cadre of beta testers has already used to sell hundred of tickets and their feedback has helped us make some tweaks and add several features.  Four months into private beta and is shaping up to be quite the Swiss army knife.

Now that the basic framework is laid out, we’re ready for deep dives into specific requirements. First up are the intricacies of ticketing for benefit events. Community design sessions on benefit ticketing will be held on Monday, January 30 and Tuesday, February 7 in New York City. If partially deductible tickets, group seating requests, table sales, and event reporting are your kind of geek-speak then these sessions are the perfect opportunity for you to join this community-driven project. • A sentence or two about your experience planning fundraiser/benefit/gala events
  • Your availability on the evenings of 1/30 and 2/7

If you’re not in NYC or available those days, don’t fret. We’ll be hosting other community design sessions, in other cities, and about other features in the coming months. In the meantime…Are you ready to work Request your invitation to join the private beta.
