Gather Atlanta | Atlanta Spaces

Fractured Atlas heads down to Georgia this upcoming weekend to participate in Gather Atlanta 2012, an annual networking event which aims to, “facilitate partnership and collaboration amongst Atlanta’s disparate arts organizations”.

As project manager for Fractured Atlas’ Spaces initiative, I will be presenting a live demo of Atlanta Spaces, the online directory for creative space built in partnership with C4 Atlanta. Atlanta Spaces is currently still in the venue outreach phase but is poised to become a go to resource for the community. Atlanta is the 11th largest city in the nation and home to some wonderfully non-traditional definitions of performance space (you’ve heard of Dance Truck, right? Emerging contemporary dancers and choreographers perform using the back of a truck as a venue.)

Gather Atlanta focuses on the value of partnerships and collaborations. The way space is listed and searched for in Atlanta Spaces makes it a valuable tool for discovery of potential partnerships based on location. Any space that self defines as a resource for performance, rehearsal, special event, class, screening, meeting, etc. can create a free listing. Interested in potential cross discipline partnerships? Searching the discipline filter is an easy way to see Dance, Theatre and Music organizations with space.

More info will be shared during the Saturday August 4th 2:30-4:00 p.m. demo at High Museum of Art.  Gather Atlanta is free and registration is still open - view the full schedule of events here.
