A Whirlwind Tour Through the South

We’re proud to be able to say that we have members not just southerntour1in all 50 states but in every single congressional district, and we’re always looking for fun new ways to get out, meet everyone, and see all of the great art being created every day.

In that spirit, we’re adding a new component to our travel this year. Over the next six months, members of our senior program staff will be going on three, one-week tours to cities across the country historically underrepresented by our visits. The extravaganza kicks off in just three weeks with our Southern Tour beginning on Monday, February 4 in Jackson, MS. From there we’ll head to Birmingham, AL (2/5), Nashville, TN (2/6), Louisville, KY (2/7), Atlanta, GA (2/8), Columbia, SC (2/9), and Charlotte, NC (2/10). All told, seven cities in seven states in seven days.

And we’d love to see you! If you’re an artist in or around any of those cities, you can either follow us on Facebook or Twitter for city-specific updates or make sure, via your membership profile, that you are subscribed to our “Announcements” email list.

I might be able to intercept you all in ATL. I live a few hours south, but I frequent ATL over the weekends. Keep me posted about what part of ATL you will tour and I will see what I can do. Thanks for visiting the SOUTH!

    I’m at http://www.brycehudson.com if you’re interested in meeting a dedicated artist ;-)

Also be sure to check out http://www.kyarts.org - the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft

Right across the street from that on Main Street is 21C http://www.21cmuseumhotel.com which has an ever-changing collection of contemporary art.
