Odometer Effect

One of the first things I do every day is check Fractured Atlas’s “membership analytics dashboard” so that I can monitor how many new members have signed up in the last day, week, month, along with the pace of membership terminations, depth of service utilization, etc. (Yes, I know I’m a geek.)
The closest thing to [...]

We Want Your Pics!

I’ve always believed that the best way to promote Fractured Atlas is to promote our members. I mean, who wants to hear about a boring old service organization when there are vertigoats out there? That’s why we do the member profiles on the blog, provide online profiles for our fiscal sponsees, and all the rest.
Over [...]

Fractured Atlas Annual Survey Responses (and the winner!)

I first want to thank all of the Fractured Atlas members who took our annual survey — all 724 of you.  We had about 10% of our membership (based on the date we released the survey) take the survey, which gives us a really terrific sample to work from.  This is the first year that [...]

What’s that, you ask?  Aha!  Those of you asking that question are exactly the target audience for the feature.  As it turns [...]

If you’ve got a blog somewhere, the odds are pretty good that you’re publishing a feed (either RSS or Atom). Well, you can now enter your feed url into your profile settings and it will automatically pull [...]

Bye Bye Image Gallery… Hello Flickr!

For a few years now, the buggiest piece of software on the Fractured Atlas website has unquestionably been the stuff we used to power our member image galleries. (I won’t even reveal the name of the software because it was such a disappointment and I don’t want to badmouth a free open source software [...]

You Shall Know Them by Their Gravatars

It’s time to start putting (user)names with faces!
The Fractured Atlas website now supports Gravatars. Gravatars are globally recognizable avatars. Basically you can associate a small picture with your email address and have that picture be associated with your username across any number of websites. There are already thousands of websites (particularly Wordpress [...]

Answer a Few Questions, Get a Free Month of Membership

It’s that time of year again. You know, the one where we bribe you to tell us how we’re doing. That’s right, it’s the 2008 Member Survey! As usual, we’ll thank you for your feedback by giving you a free month of membership.
This only takes about 5-10 minutes and it’s really incredibly valuable for [...]
