One of San Francisco’s most beloved Art Auctions returns to Andrea Schwartz Gallery, welcoming Author Danielle Steel as Honorary Chair.
Hospitality House’s 22nd Annual Art Auction features one-of-a-kind art from nationally and locally recognized artists; supports Community Arts Program for Tenderloin neighborhood.
San Francisco, April 27, 2007— Hospitality House is pleased to announce its 22nd Annual Art Auction on Thursday, May 31st at Andrea Schwartz Gallery, 525 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA. One of San Francisco’s most popular art auction fundraisers, the event features more than 200 pieces donated from notable local and national artists, as well as pieces created by artists at Hospitality House’s Community Arts Program (CAP). Some of the artists included are Vicki Daniel, Randall John, Jeff Marshall, Liisa Morton, Thomas Pringle and Joan Tucker.
Founded in 1969, the CAP is the only free-of-charge fine arts studio and gallery providing free space, materials, instruction, and exhibition/sales support to Tenderloin artists and neighborhood residents. Long-recognized as a creative and cultural oasis in the heart of the neighborhood, the CAP is also an important center for the creation of “outsider” and urban art in San Francisco.
This year, Hospitality House is pleased to welcome Danielle Steel as the Honorary Chair for the 22nd Annual Art Auction. “I think this is a wonderful event and I’m honored to be part of it.,” said Ms. Steel. Tickets are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. More than 180 pieces ranging in price from $25 - $10,000 will be available during a live and silent auction.
