Music Theatre Scene Study
With Wendy McClellan
Music Direction by Rick Hip-Flores

What: Ever had a great first audition, but felt like you didn't nail the call back? Ever felt like you needed guidance on making bold choices with cold reading material and callback songs? Join us for this intensive and sharpen your process. These three sessions will focus on how to make quick, in-depth choices with musical theatre material and preparation techniques for call-back circumstances. More of a scene-study than an audition class, we will work to deepen your acting process when transitioning between singing and text. From scene into song, we will work with you to develop your acting with text and acting on pitch process. The instructors will provide the musical scenes for you to work on over the course of the class.

Who: This class is appropriate for music-theatre actors at all levels. Whether you're an opera singer looking to work in more musical-theatre, an actor looking to gain more musical-theatre experience, or a seasoned music-theatre performer, this class will give you the tools to attack musical auditions with more confidence and skill. Register alone or with a scene partner. Be prepared to sing a song of your choosing at the first session.

When: 3 Saturdays: Feb. 23rd, March 1st, and March 8th from 3pm-6pm
