Installation Artist Suzan Shutan of New Haven, Connecticut will be in residence from May 17-June 8 creating work for a site-specific installation in which the walls, floor and ceiling serve as a giant map of Argentina. The exhibit creates visual trajectories and unexpected dialogues of a place not yet traveled to but explored and interpreted. Using video, sound, print, drawing and sculpture as a psycho-geography of the country’s various regions and desired paths of migratory travel, what is revealed is a sensory experience that constructs contemporary notions of habitation. This project is made possible with funding from the A.R.T. (Artist Resource Trust) Fund, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
