Shudder House

This is a story about the blues. The blues is a form with a history that has paralleled film history since both of their mainstream introductions. Although both the idea of the blues and the idea of film had existed since the early 1800s, it wasn’t until the late 1800s that the first blues song and the first image were recorded and introduced to the world. From then on, the historical timelines of these artistic forms paralleled one another up until this very day. In a little over 100 years, both film and blues have undergone complete circles and are now both threatened by new, emerging forms and technologies.

This is a movie that does not embrace these new technologies. This movie does not feature high definition video, indie rock, special effects, and well-lit studio sets. This movie is a reversion to the roots of filmmaking and the roots of blues music.
