Quilt: Art To Mend the World
Reconciliations #18: “As above so below.” Peace and Equality dwell between those who differ.
Quilt: Art to Mend the World is a multidisciplinary artwork by artist Kate Ransohoff. Each quilt panel focuses on a single topic of conflict, injustice or inequality and honors all cultures, world experiences and differing perspectives. It supports human rights, women's empowerment and healthy economics. Quilt invites public participation, conversation and communication.
The panels are two-sided, made by sewing recycled paper, fabric and words together. Each side reflects the other giving equal weight and voice to an array of different cultural and artistic expressions. Quilt: Art to Mend the World is meant to be viewed, touched and read.
