Voice Workshop: Building your Repertoire

 

This workshop focuses on the development of individual song-presentation/interpretation with a voice teacher and an accompanist musician in each class. For six weeks, close attention will be paid to body awareness and voice technique. Participants will work on developing a song that he/she already knows, and must bring chart/music sheet, lyrics, and CD version of the song. Open to performing artists with a background in singing.

 

-Dates: Tuesdays, May 11 through June 15 (6 classes, 12 hours in total)

-Hours: 6:30 - 8:30pm

-Cost: $160.00  *Minimum of 6 people to open workshop, maximum of 10.

Applicants will be notified no later than April 19. If selected, registration must be done by April 26 by going Teatro IATI's website. As a finalization of the workshop there will be an open showcase.

Instructor

A graduate of music from The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance in Israel, Sabrina Lastman is a vocalist, performer, composer and educator. Since moving to New York in 2005, Sabrina has performed at Carnegie Hall, Blues Alley Jazz, Blue Note, New York City Classical Guitar Society, New York University, City University of New York (CUNY), and Museo del Barrio, among many others. She taught at the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors (HOLA), Middlebury College and IATI Theatre; private workshops at Movement Research, Actors Movement Studio, Teatro La Tea, Art for Change, and the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan. She teaches privately at her own studio.
