Arts Advocacy Day

by Adam Natale in Winter 2005: The Advocacy Issue

Arts Advocacy Day, established by Americans for the Arts, is the only national event convening America's cultural and civic organizations, as well as hundreds of grassroots advocates, to underscore the importance of developing strong public policies and appropriating increased public funding for the arts. As a National Co-Sponsor of this year's event, Fractured Atlas encourages its members to join us in Washington, D.C. as we help promote the importance of the arts in our nation.

The event will kick off with a day of training sessions and guest speakers providing knowledge about the current arts issues circulating on Capitol Hill, and how to lobby Congress for increased public arts funding.

Join us for Arts Advocacy Day! With your support, we can present a strong, unified coalition that is instrumental in advancing key legislative initiatives, including increased funding for both the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities, as well as securing increased funding for arts education programs within the U.S. Department of Education.

For more information and to register for Arts Advocacy Day, visit www.artsusa.org and click on "Events."

See you in Washington!
