Fractured Atlas Updates

by Adam Natale in Summer 2006

Arts Wellness Network :: The Arts Wellness Network is a network of artist-friendly healthcare providers who offer preferred access, special services and/or discounted rates to eligible members of Fractured Atlas. The Arts Wellness Network is not health insurance. However, it can be a great way for artists to take care of routine, preventative or alternative healthcare needs with minimal out-of-pocket expenses. This program is in its pilot stage, so we are currently offering AWN services in the New York City area only. The program is $10 per month for current Fractured Atlas members and free to those members enrolled in the AIG Health Companion Plus program. You can access more information at www.artswellness.com.

Open Arts Network :: We are pleased to announce that Fractured Atlas was recently awarded $10,000 from the National Endowment for the Arts, our first grant from the agency. The grant will be used toward developing our Open Arts Network, the initiative that gives membership-based arts organizations the ability to provide their own members with access to many of the valuable benefits and services that Fractured Atlas provides, including low-cost health insurance. We'd like to welcome our five most recent additions to the Open Arts Network: Dance Theater Workshop, the Asian American Arts Alliance, the College Art Association, the Black Rock Coalition, ArtFag Mafia, and the Columbia University School of the Arts Alumni Association. Some of these organizations will be offering selected services to Fractured Atlas members in the near future, so check back on our website for details!
