OkTECHberfest: Tech Tools for the Arts part 4

For those of you just joining us, we're in day four of celebrating OkTECHberfest, a week-long convening of our fabulous Tech staff in New York City. Every day this week we'll be sharing some of our tech team's favorite tech tools that you may or may not have heard of! There's a treasure trove of powerful tools for artists, if you just know where to look.

Our Program Director for, Selena Juneau-Vogel, came back from NTEN's National Technology Conference overflowing with new exciting tech tools for the arts. One of the nifty tools she brought back to us is an application called ThingLink.  This app essentially lets the images on your website go into overdrive by allowing you to embed audio, video, and other rich media links directly into your image. It's an easy way to make your already beautiful images even more engaging and interactive. Maybe you have a blog for your next ballet production. Anyone can post a bunch of rehearsal photos to keep your fans updated. But what if you could also embed the music being used for the piece so your readers can listen along; Or maybe a video from the director explaining their vision for the piece? Suddenly a simple image becomes a key opportunity to deeply engage with your site visitors. You can see how we've used ThingLink in this recent blogpost about!
