Forks and Hope - Taking Snark to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
A troupe of artists adapting borrowed tales utilizing household items to engage the imagination.
A rag-tag crew of would-be adventurers embark on a most fraught and perilous journey across the open sea to an uncharted land, driven by a common goal: to capture the elusive and mythical “Snark.”
An entirely original adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s 1874 nonsense poem, The Hunting of the Snark was devised collaboratively by the ensemble, tumbling out into a raucous, imaginative and fun-filled theatrical adventure perfect for audiences of all-ages. The premiere production, part of the 25th anniversary season of Chicago’s Strawdog Theatre Company, opened to glowing reviews and sold out performances.
That company (taking their name from the tools with which the Snark hunters pursue their quarry) is headed to the world-famous Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2014 - to tell their tale (and have a few adventures of their own)!
