FRIGID New York

A new global Indie Theater Festival

Horse Trade and San Francisco’s EXIT Theatre celebrate the end of winter with the return of FRIGID New York, A new global Indie Theater Festival. FRIGID New York is a CAFF sanctioned festival, and kicks off the annual North American Fringe Circuit.

With acclaim from American Theatre Magazine “this event promises to steam up the independent theatre scene.” Backstage.com “the first festival of its kind to celebrate independent theater”, Playbill, Broadwayworld.com “a celebration of independent theater tailored to support the artist.”, United Stages “the coolest show on earth!”, and full coverage from nytheatre.com “a pleasant surprise” – Martin Denton, 29 theater companies featuring almost 250 theater artists from all over the world flooded downtown Manhattan for two weeks in March of 2007 to peddle their artistic wares for over 2,000 ecstatic audience members! FRIGID New York is back and promises to continue to support self-producing theater artists in New York City.

FRIGID New York is unlike any other theater festival in the city: the artists take home 100% of their box office and the festival producers are not required future earnings. The festival’s producers are proud of its guiding principles to support self-producing artists in furthering the success of their work. We ask for your help as we continue to provide this opportunity for ingenuity to thrive in a festival that prides itself on freedom of expression and artistic determination. Your kind donation to FRIGID New York will help secure a future for this unique festival. From advertising to staffing, from venue maintenance to affordable artists lodging and from publicity to basic paperwork, any amount donated directly supports a truly vibrant theater community.

Three Theaters, Twelve Days, over 30 international independent theater companies and 150 performances ...see you at FRIGID New York
