Classroom Encounters

Classroom Encounters with Global Change Scientists is a multi-part film series in DVD format that presents cutting edge science in a novel and intergenerational way as scientific pioneers, students and teachers interact in a small, classroom setting. The footage is shot by a professional film crew teamed with a student camera crew. The final broadcast quality DVDs are interwoven with satellite images, maps, charts and original student-inspired art and music to illustrate the science content and capture and convey the learning process. In addition to the student-scientists encounters, each episode includes a scientist-student and scientist-teacher interview. The films are produced by film-making duo, earth science teacher Rita Chang and professional director and editor, Alan Fine. For more information contact or
