Chelsea Music Festival
The Chelsea Music Festival vision is to celebrate great music in dynamic venues with the world’s leading musicians and exciting newcomers on the international music stage.
With its roots in and inspiration from the Chelsea neighborhood, CMF seeks to reflect the creativity gathered in one of New York City’s most exciting neighborhoods. Home to Chelsea Piers, the High Line and world-renowned art galleries, Chelsea is a nexus of old and new, performing and viewing, space and its contents. These dynamics inspire the Festival programming, which spans musical genres ranging from classical to jazz and also reaches beyond its borders through cross-genre collaborations and works specifically composed for the Festival.
The Festival also explores the interplay of art forms – in particular the musical, visual and culinary – and connects artists, composers and concertgoers to one another in intimate settings.
The Festival’s Artistic Directors are Ken-David Masur and Melinda Lee Masur.
