Chanel Blanchett is a multidisciplinary theatre artist with a focus in devised performance. As a writer, director, arts administrator, and teaching artist her work centers around making space for diverse voices and bodies in more rooms. Chanel holds special interest in empowering and creating opportunities for black women and black youth. Through her work as a freelance director and creator, she has worked with a range of organizations from the Creator’s Collective to Epoch Tribe, to universities and colleges. Currently, she is working on her biggest project yet: keeping her extremely active and adorable cat from knocking over everything. Chanel received her MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College, and is a participant in Theatre Communications Group's Rising Leaders of Color program.
